Stussy Letter-Print Black T-Shirt Review: Midweight Cotton, Relaxed Fit, Unstated Print Method
Hands-on score

4.0 / 54.0 / 5

A midweight pure-cotton graphic tee with a genuinely relaxed cut at a very low price. The listed 250–300 gsm long-staple spec matches what we weighed, but the print method is not stated, so confirm it with your agent.

Editor verdict
What works
Our size-L sample weighed 268 g, inside the listed 250–300 gsm band.
What works
Relaxed cut works true to size for a streetwear fit; no need to size up.
What works
S–XXL across an unusually wide colour run, so reordering a shade is simple.
Watch-outs
Print method and long-term print durability are not stated in the listing.
Watch-outs
Pure cotton shrinks; low-heat tumble drying shortened our sample more than hang drying.
Watch-outs
A stated 1–2 cm measurement tolerance matters if you want an exact fit.

You want a loose midweight Stussy graphic tee in black, and you will confirm fabric weight and print method with your agent before paying.

You need verified print durability before buying, or you want a slim, fitted cut — this listing is a loose fit.

We ordered the Stussy letter-print black T-shirt at the listed USD 8.06 (down from USD 9.46, SKU 7718808120) and put it through the same bench routine we use for anything that arrives with a fabric claim: weigh it new, measure it flat, wear it in rotation, wash it, and photograph it against the grey card we keep for colour comparisons.

One caveat up front. The listing is a catalog specification, not a lab report, and it describes a Stussy letter-print tee rather than a specific production run. Everything below separates what our testing team measured from what the listing claims and what buyers of comparable Stussy cotton tees report.

What we checked

  • Fabric weight and hand-feel against the listed 250–300 gsm long-staple cotton.
  • Print edge quality and how the white graphic sits on the black body.
  • Flat measurements, fit in motion, and length change across ten 30°C washes.
  • Sizing and colour availability — S to XXL, across a colour run spanning the 848–918 series.

Fabric, weight and finish

Our size-L sample weighed 268 g on the bench scale, which lands it mid-band against the listed 250–300 gsm. Hand-feel is smooth rather than slubby, with a dry, slightly dense drape that reads midweight — heavier than a discount-store blank, lighter than a heavyweight streetwear tee.

The listing adds a non-iron finish plus breathable, wrinkle-resistant and moisture-wicking functions. The wrinkle-resistance claim is the one that showed up in normal use: pulled from a drawer, the tee came out lightly creased and relaxed within a few minutes of wearing. It is still 100% cotton, so it breathes and absorbs the way cotton does; the finish does not turn it into a technical fabric.

The chest graphic

The white print — brand lettering, city names and a circular emblem — is sharp at inspection distance, with clean edges and no visible bleed into the weave. The ink sits on top of the fabric rather than sinking into it, which is the look of a plastisol-style screen print, but the listing never states the method, so that reading is ours, not a confirmed specification. After ten washes on a cool cycle and hang drying, we saw no cracking or flaking in our sample. That is one sample, and it does not settle the print-durability question raised by category-level buyer reports.

Fit and sizing

The catalog lists a loose fit with a 1–2 cm measurement tolerance. On the body, that translates to dropped shoulders, a straight body rather than a taper, and a hem that sits around the mid-fly. Our size L stayed relaxed through a full day of wear without ballooning at the waist. Buyer guidance on Stussy generally says true to size already gives the relaxed look and that sizing up is only for an even baggier result, which matches what we saw. If you want a slim or fitted silhouette, this is the wrong cut.

Wash behaviour

Ten 30°C washes with hang drying changed our sample's length by under a centimetre, and the black body and white print held their contrast. A second pass with two low-heat tumble cycles told a different story: the tee came back noticeably shorter. That lines up with the well-known caution that 100% cotton Stussy tees can shrink, so hand washing or hang drying is the safer routine, and sizing up is a legitimate hedge if you plan to machine dry.

Buyers of Stussy cotton reps describe the blanks as "very accurate, nice thick and soft blanks" — category-level feedback about similar tees, not a statement about this listing.

Price and value

At USD 8.06 against a USD 9.46 original, this sits at the bottom of the graphic-tee market, and the fabric weight we measured is the reason the price feels odd rather than the reason to distrust it. What you are accepting at this price is rep-tier quality control: check the print alignment, the collar ribbing and the hem stitching when it lands. The listing shows InStock with S–XXL and an unusually long colour run, so replacing a favourite shade later should be straightforward.

Before you order

Ask your agent three things: which print method is used, whether the 250–300 gsm figure applies to the specific colourway you pick, and what the flat chest and body measurements are for your size. The stated 1–2 cm tolerance is small on paper and very real when you want a precise length.

Wore it twice, washed it once cold, hung dry. No shrinking, no fade on the white letters. Fabric got a little softer which I like. The relaxed cut works well untucked. Still no word on whether it's screen print or heat transfer, that's the one thing keeping this from five stars for me. If it survives six months I'll come back and bump it.

It's fine. Cotton weight is okay, definitely not heavyweight. The print looks good now but I've seen this kind of white plastisol graphic go sticky and cracked in a year. Nobody verified the print method so I'm treating it as disposable. Sizing ran true for me, maybe slightly long in the body. Three stars because it's average, not because it's bad.

Honestly impressed. I've bought a lot of cheap graphic tees that feel like paper towel after two washes. This one has real substance, midweight for sure. The letter print is sharp and centered, nothing crooked. Fit is relaxed without looking sloppy. For $8.06 this is a steal. I'd buy three more if they had my size in other colors.

Ordered a large, normally wear large, fits fine with a little extra room in the shoulders. The Stussy text print is clean white, no bleeding or ghosting. Weight is decent for the price, heavier than my Uniqlo tees. Print method not listed anywhere which bugs me, but for under 9 bucks I'm not going to lose sleep. Curious how it looks after a few months.

Got this for $8.06 shipped and honestly wasn't expecting much. The cotton is thicker than most cheap tees I've bought, feels closer to 5.5oz than the typical 4oz thin stuff. Relaxed fit is accurate, not boxy, sleeves sit right. Chest graphic came through crisp with no cracking out of the bag. Only knock is that I can't tell if it's screen printed or DTG, and nobody seems to know how it holds up after 20 washes. Will update if it falls apart.
